Up-conversion materials

Up-conversion materials

Up-conversion materials transform infrared radiation into visible light.
These materials are used in frequency multipliers, laser diodes and night vision glasses.
Product protection is another potential area of application. LWB's portfolio includes a range of up-conversion materials that can be excited by infrared radiation at wavelengths between 940 nm and 980 nm to emit light of different colours. Customers may request characteristic response and fading times as well as emission colours.
Grain sizes are normally 1.5 µm to 12 µm but can be adapted to a customer's specific application.
Teaming with Sensor Instruments Systemtechnik GmbH, LWB also offers harmonised combinations of luminescent materials and sensors for quick and reliable product authentication. Other uses of this technology include process control (Industry 4.0) and the monitoring of recycling processes.
